Fender Stratocaster Pre-CBS 1961
So here ladies and gents we have the real deal - real Brazilian slab board neck, original wiring and pickups from 1961, neck and body were born together and were never seperated
And only one ‘not so careful’ owner since new - the gentleman in question bought it on ‘61, touched it up slightly (at home 😩) in ‘72 and since then has pretty much left it be. A bought of arthritis confined it to the under the bed status in the 90s until it recently rocked up at Art of Guitar
As all you connoisseurs know - if it wasn’t for the homemade touch ups to the original black paint job the guitar would cost at least 4 times the price he’s happy to see it go for - even has its OHC
if you can look beyond the small areas of filled in black to cover some of the bangs you’ll get yourself a guitar with massive mojo and playability - the pups really scream and growl like only the good hand wound ones of the day could, and the fret board is a delight to to run up and down
With time and patience I’d give Clive Brown a ball, get him to do a new-old relic job and add a nought to the price. Then again the gent is 88 and wants it selling now so if someone wants a little project of even an immensely fun to play and wonderful sounding original ‘61 Strat for a fraction of the cost then you’ve come to the right place!!

Returns Policy
If you decide to return the instrument, you must notify us via phone or email within the first 72 hours after delivery. We will then issue a Return Authorization. We will not accept any returned items that do not have a previously arranged Return Authorization.
When sending the instrument back to us, please ensure it is packed to the same standards in which it was received, using all supplied packaging. Once the instrument arrives back to us, we will inspect it to ensure it is still in the same condition in which it left our showroom. Once this inspection has taken place, RJ Luthier will issue a refund for the full purchase amount within 14 days.
All return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer on all musical instrument orders.
If, upon inspection, a guitar is not returned in the same condition it was sent to you in, a restocking fee may be deducted from the refund issued.

Upon receiving your instrument, please inspect it to ensure that the condition of the item is as described in your communication with us.
